Healthy hair is manageable hair that is balanced in moisture and strength. It is easy to style with versatility and ease. Healthy hair shines from the inside out and is as unique as a fingerprint.

Protein moisture balance is important when maintaining healthy hair. If the hair is overloaded with moisture, the hair can become limp and lifeless. If the hair contains too much protein, it can become brittle and dry.

Myavana has come up with a few tips and techniques to help you maintain your hair’s strength and hydration. Let’s get into it!Myavana has come up with a few tips and techniques to help you maintain your hair’s strength and hydration. Let’s get into it!

Moisture & Hydration

First, before applying any treatment or product to the hair, make sure that the scalp has been thoroughly cleansed Next, apply your conditioner and detangle your hair while it’s saturated. You can finger detangle or use a round-tooth comb to detangle. Avoid using a pointy-tooth comb to detangle because it splits the strands of your hair, causing unnecessary damage. Once the hair is saturated with the conditioning treatment and detangled, go ahead and sit under a streamer or hooded dryer. Adding heat to the treatment process helps the hair cuticle open and allows the hair treatment to penetrate deeply.

If you prefer natural treatments or DIY treatments, a mixture of aloe vera, avocado, and coconut oil will work well as a conditioning treatment.

Protein & Strength

Protein treatments add strength and boost the hair with nutrients and proteins to help reconstruct and strengthen hair strands. When protein treatments are used properly, and used in combination with adequate moisture, they can reduce breakage and split ends, and they can also strengthen limp, brittle hair strands.

Remember that overusing protein treatments can make your hair hard and stiff; it can also cause breakage throughout the hair. We recommend only using a protein treatment once a month or as directed by a professional.

Does My Hair Need Moisture or Protein?

Your hair needs moisture if you notice the following:

·         dryness

·         tangles

·         brittleness

·         dullness

·         split ends

·         breakage

Your hair needs protein if you notice the following:

·         hair doesn’t maintain its shape

Overall, to keep your hair healthy and full of vibrance, a balanced hair care regimen is key.
