Is your hair manageable?

Is your hair manageable?

Have you ever wondered how some people get their hair in a top bun or ponytail? What about those people whose hair is so long the strands are continuously tangled? Have you seen hair that has not been combed out in weeks? We can testify to having those lazy days and crazy hair days. Well, today we will explore what it means to truly have control over your hair and the best not so secret techniques to keep it kept (if you know what I mean!)

Managing hair can be a challenging task for many people, especially those with more textured types. There are numerous ways to ensure that hair is kept manageable, but the type of hair, its thickness and its length all play a role in what products and techniques will work best. Persons with straight hair seem to have it altogether because their struggle is seemingly less than most or is it? Let’s explore a little more.

Manageability Techniques

  • One way to make sure that your hair is manageable is to keep it clean. Shampooing regularly helps to remove dirt and oils from the scalp which can build up over time and cause tangles, frizz and other issues that make it difficult to style or even brush through. Using the right type of shampoo can also help improve the texture of your hair by nourishing it with essential oils or vitamins that boost strength and shine.
  • It’s also important to condition your hair after shampooing in order to keep it hydrated. Some people find that using natural conditioners are better than store-bought ones because they don’t contain harsh chemicals which could potentially damage the scalp or strip away moisture from strands.
  • Using a wide tooth comb is another great way to improve manageability of your hair. This allows you to gently detangle knots without causing breakage, plus it prevents strands from becoming stretched out when attempting to brush through them with a regular brush. If you have textured hair, this is an invaluable tool for taming flyaways and frizz while keeping strands smooth and soft without pulling at them too hard like a traditional brush would do.
  • Getting regular trims are paramount when attempting to manage one’s hair better. Regular trims help prevent split ends which can lead to further breakage if left untreated since they travel up the shaft until eventually reaching the scalp. It may seem counterintuitive since most people don’t want their length shortened, but trimming off dead ends every 6-8 weeks actually helps promote longer healthier looking locks in the long run since split ends won’t be able to spread further up the shaft causing more breakage than necessary.
  • Heat styling tools such as straighteners, curling irons, or blow dryers can be damaging to many types of hair if used incorrectly or too often - so be sure to use heat protectants when necessary to keep your hair from becoming dried out and unmanageable! Similarly, try reducing the amount of towel drying you do after washing - gently patting down your tresses with an old t-shirt is better for maintaining manageability than vigorously rubbing with a towel!
Manageability for everyone comes in different forms but malleability is general for everyone is one of the biggest factors when it comes to taking care of your hair. Know your hair and what it needs. Not many people understand the “hair language” and so will use general knowledge which in most cases won’t work for your particular texture, type and condition. No worries! We have all the answers.
